The series acts as a retelling of the Arthurian legends and takes place in Post-Roman Dark Age Britain, where the warlord Arthur Pendragon has been banished while Saxons invade and a child-king sits unprotected on the throne. Too often, however, that's where they stop. There's an art to writing playlets, keeping them self-contained and complete, but Muthy's better at set-ups than following through. She draws situations with skill and concision, then leaves stories dangling, frustratingly incomplete. When a woman's envious of her echo, what comes next? What happens once you reset a robot that cries rape? Muthy shies away from springing the sort of surprising twists short plays need. She raises questions without attempting answers. Nessah is also a member of the Coronation Street writing team, is working on COBRA for Sky One / New Pictures and taking part in the KAOS / Netflix / Sister Pictures Shadow Writers Scheme led by Charlie Covell. Although Muthy went in with an idea of the experiences she would draw from to inspire the play, she stressed that she was eager to learn during the writing process.
